Product Options - Travel Daypacks/BackPacks
Love or despise them, when travelling, backpacks are one of the items that will keep you efficient
and most probably stress-free. Our family has a small store room where we keep our luggage and
backpacks - we have taken a while to find the right one for each of us.
We went in search for some of the best Travel Backpacks. Here is what we what we think is important
to consider, and here is a selection of backpacks that we found to be the best...
What to consider when choosing a Daypack/Backpack...
You should look for a Backpack that has zippers that can be locked or clicked together. Most tourist destinations are subject to pick-pockets, and you would e surprised at how stealth and sneaky they can be.
Try to avoid big and bulky backpacks, Aim to carry a backpack that is easy and comfortable to carry around, particularly on those long days.
Sometimes you may find that you need to pack your backpack into your main luggage when you are between destinations. When you are looking for a backpack, consider its packability (i.e. can it be easily rolled up or laid out flat inside your main luggage).
You will want a Backpack that will carry around all of the items that you will need; but not too big that you may overpack it. Remember to think about how bulky it can possibly become whilst you are walking around cities, and keep in mind, when you stop to remove something how difficult it may be to find that certain item - if you have overpacked your bag. Similarly, if you tend to buy souvenirs, leave enough space for them to fit - this will prevent you having to carry another plastic bag around, simply because you did not leave enough space in your backpack. I am speaking very much from experience here..
Other things to consider...
* External pockets are very important (for water bottles etc)
* Comfortability of the Backpack. Perhaps choose a backpack with straps that are ventilated (the last thing you want is a sweaty back and shoulders when you walk into your next venue).
