So how do you invest in your childrens' future travel experiences, and not just financially.

We have all heard that travel makes us wiser... But what does that actually mean?
For some, it is learning more about other countries and what those civilizations have gone through to become what they are. For others, its just about immersing themselves into a different culture; enjoying their food, architecture, landmarks etc. When it comes to traveling with our children, it is clearly more difficult and time consuming than when we travel on our own or with a travel partner. It, however, can be incredibly rewarding for your children, should you want to take them with you on your travel adventures.

Let's face it, financially, for most people, planning a family holiday means also saving diligently for that holiday. So saving money now and putting it away for your childrens' future travels (far and beyond) is not always feasible for most. For lessons sake, it could be best that they learn about what it takes to save money for that well deserved holiday. It is such a personal decision for people, some parents may treat their vacation as their family bonding time, so that time is important for them no matter the cost.
Below we highlight some ways to invest in your children, financially and also by way of inspiring traveling experiences and creating memories. Instilling that travel bug to learn about other cultures through travel is immensely important to children. They can learn so much about the world through what they see, experience and furthermore imagine. To inspire your childrens' future interest in travel, you could choose to put away a few dollars or so a month in a separate bank account, that is solely for the purpose of future travel for the kids. If this means that you have partially funded an air ticket or paid for some special hotel or resort accommodation, that really is enough to make a difference, which may result in a life time of travel adventures for your children. There are numerous other ways, rather than funding their travels, to encourage your childrens interest in travel. These are:
1-Watch travel shows for your own inspiration and your children will naturally be inspired through your excitement.
Some fabulous shows include 'Samantha Browns' series' (see banner here - to find her shows on iTunes).
2- Encourage children to watch fun shows, read fun books or play with exciting Apps! One of the best Travel related educational but fun TV Shows for kids is "Little Einsteins".
It is a fabulous series that you will love your children watching.

3- Have your children start a travel journal to learn about different countries...
Even if they havent been to those countries! Get them to learn about fun facts, rather than the history. As that will most likely bore them at this stage.
Hint: make the travel journal a fun task. Dont expect them to sit down and write copious amounts of notes. This might give us satisfaction, but for them not always.
Perhaps get some travel magazines, have them cut out pictures that they love (historical, scenery, landmarks etc) and have them learn about it. This will foster a natural wonder and fascination for travel and places around the world to see. Not to mention the interest in other cultures. See here for some beautiful Journal options.

4- Buy the kids their own Camera (or have them save for one)

One of the best gifts a child can have is their very-own Camera. There are a number of Cameras available for kids these days. Take a look below for some options, both film and digital.
